CVC13 Calcite
Dal'Negorsk, Primorskiy Kray, Russia
8.4x 2.1x 1.75 cm

A nice elongated calcite crystal, sharp and terminated, from Dal' Negorsk.  Not what you would usually expect to see from a calcite crystal, then again Dal'Negorsk probably produces the most varied range of calcite habits of any single locality.

CVC26 Galena on Quartz
Palomo Mine, Castrovirreina Prov., Huancavelica Dept., Peru
7.5x 6.8x 4.7 cm
$46

A nice specimen of lustrous galena on quartz, from the Palomo Mine. Pretty cheap for what it is...

CVC27 Zircon
Diamr District, Northern Areas, Pakistan
5.2x 2.8x 2.5 cm
$58

A decent reference sample of Pakistani zircon, on a pillar of matrix.  It needs some cleaning and preparation, but that's why it's not particularly expensive.

CVC28 Pyrite
Racracancha Mine, Tinyahuarco Dist., Pasco Prov., Pasco Dept., Peru
7.6x 6.3x 6.0 cm

A relatively large (for the locality) pyrite cube on a matrix of smaller pyrite crystals. The main crystal displays the striations that are typical of specimens from this mine.  There is damage to the front edge, so the price is considerably lower than what it would be.

CVC29 Calcite
Irving Materials Quarry, Anderson, Madison Co., Indiana, United States
2.3x 1.7x 1.3 cm
$76

A nice thumbnail of twinned calcite, from Indiana.  Along with those from the nearby Berry Materials Quarry, these are probably my favorite American calcites.

CVC36 Orpiment
Quiruvilca Dist., Santiago de Chuco Prov., La Libertad Dept., Peru
8.1x 5.3x 3.3 cm
$42

A nice reference sample of crystalline orange orpiment on matrix, from the Quiruvilca mine in Peru.

5.5x 4.8x 3.3 cm
$85

A very nice miniature specimen featuring a manganocalcite rhomb on a cluster of lollingite crystals, abutted by a small quartz scepter.  Any Chinese dealer in Tucson would be asking double or more.

CVC51 Bixbyite
Wah Wah Mtns, Utah, United States
3.8x 2.2x 2.4 cm
$34

A bixbyite cube on a rhyolite matrix from Utah.  After Utah, pretty much th eonly locality you would ever see a specimen from are the Kalahari Maganese Fields in South Africa.

CVC58 Quartz
Pisco Prov., Ica Dept., Peru
9.2x 7.2x 3.7 cm
$39

A cluster of quartz crystals with somewhat unusual terminatons from Peru's Pisco Province.

CVC64 Calcite
Rensselaer Quarry, Pleasant Ridge, Jasper Co., Indiana, USA
11.4x 10.3x 3.0 cm
$66

A nice elongated calcite scalenohedron on matrix, from the Rensselaer Quarry.  What I find particularly interesting about the piece is actually on the back-- a couple of the cavities in the matrix are coated with goopy hydrocarbons.

CVC65 Quartz
Huanggang Mine, Hexigten Banner (Keshiketeng Co.), Ulanhad League (Chifeng Prefecture), Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, China
4.7x 3.3x 2.9 cm
$69

A nice little miniature specimen of sceptered quartz, with darker shafts and lighter terminations.  The previous dealer had a price of $120 on it....

CVC81 Fluorite on Quartz
Huanggang Mine, Hexigten Banner (Keshiketeng Co.), Ulanhad League (Chifeng Prefecture), Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, China
10.3x 5.0x 3.8 cm
$115

A very beautiful sample, consisting of a quartz spray with a colorless fluorite octahedron perched on its side.  There is damage, which is why this is priced cheaper, though it is still a very beautiful piece.

Wuhan Mine, Tongbei, Fujian Prov., China
8.2x 4.5x 2.1 cm
$59

Many orange garnets covering an orthoclase matrix, from the 2000's finds at the Wuhan spessartine mine.  After several years of plentiful specimens, this locality has pretty much been depleted.

18.0x 11.0x 4.1 cm
$69

A large cabinet sample of sphalerite, from the Tri-State district.  This is an older piece, as the last mine closed in 1967.

A nice sample of bright arsenopyrite on matrix, from old finds at the Yaogangxian Mine.

CCP27 Fluorite with Nelenite
Huanggang Mine, Hexigten Banner (Keshiketeng Co.), Ulanhad League (Chifeng Prefecture), Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, China
20.0x 15.0x 5.8 cm
$390

A very large cabinet specimen of colorless octahedral fluorite, with bits of nelenite here and there, particularly towards the left edge.

This is priced a bit higher than what I normally post on clearance pages, but I think this is very cheap-- a Chinese dealer in Tucson would probably have this marked from $800-$1200

Mulanje Massif, Chilwa Alkaline Area, Malawi

A thumbnail sized, partial barrel shaped crystal of parisite, from a newly discovered locality near Mt. Malosa.  Like most of these, this is probably partially altered to an assortment of other rare earth bearing minerals.

$58

A sample of green quartz, included by hendenbergite, from China.  There is damage, and please note that the scuff on the front center of the crystal is somewhat more visible in person than in the photographs.  The price does take all this into account.
